Farewell Food Tour: Fiamme, Pieroni's & Lou Malnati's

How can you say you'll miss Chicago without saying you'll miss the pizza! Not since moving down here have we ordered Pizza Hut, Dominos or any other national chain. Chris and I decided we would have a Farewell Food Tour before we left, and no worries… it won't be all within 24 hours like our Anniversary was! These are three of our favorite places for a pizza pie around here!

'The Place Down the Street.'
Pieroni's
We love thin crust and theirs was tasty, our regular was a cheese, pepperoni and jalapeƱos. There was not nearly enough time to take a picture before hungry hands started digging in. Okay, they were mine. Don't judge me. I'm pregnant.

'Pizza Night Out'
Fiamme
Oh wood-fired pizza how we love you. The dough is the star, but we still don't mind the goods on top.

Speaking of dough… besides being a great date night restaurant, it's also family friendly. They brought little miss a big ball of dough to play with while we waited. It was a huge hit!

'The Chicago Classic'
Lou Malnati's
You say Chicago, you say Deep Dish. This pizza is what made me realize pizza was all about the crust for me. The delicious butter crust on Lou's is too die for. What really makes a chicago style pizza though is how it's assembled. Backwards! Cheese first, them meat, then sauce on top. Grab your fork, this bad boy isn't getting picked up with hands!
