Let's All Meet at the Emergency Room!

5:00pm Tuesday Night: Dad get's home from picking Sloane up from daycare and notices during a routine diaper change that there are couple spots on her leg and the back of her neck.

7:00pm Tuesday Night: Mom prepares Sloane for bed and find the bumps have expanded to her belly as well. Freak out.

7:30pm Tuesday Night: On-Call Physican confirms over the phone they are nothing to worry about at this moment and we should keep an eye on them fr any change. Bring her in right away if they get worse

~

...per the title of this post, I'm sure you can see where it's going...

5:00am Wednesday Morning: Screaming baby awakes Mom and Dad. Dad rushes in to check if the bumps have gotten any worse...OH HAVE THEY...

5:30am Wednesday Morning: Mom is out the door (looking lovely) and on to the way to the ER with Miss Sloane. Mom has a monster headache and no idea what from.

7:00am Wednesday Morning: Leave the ER with knowledge that the spots are [Enth}...] a fancy word for Multi-Form Hives. It's beleived she had a reaction to the antibiotic she was taking for an ear infection. We were instructed to dose benedryl to help with the itching and they would eventually fade away. Mom found out she had a sinus infection and needed to take a hot shower and some sudafed.

7:30am Wednesdsay Monring: Call work and cancel, call daycare and cancel, schedule follow up appoinment with pediatrician, reschedule dog appointment, cancel personal trainer appointment and take a hot shower.

5:00pm Wednesday Evening: No Change...for either of us...still need to take a hot shower, HEAD.IS.GOING.TO.EXPLODE

Despite being sick smelly and tired....hubby still gave me my Valentines gift

LOVE!

6:30am (Normal Wakeup Time) Thursday Morning: Sloane's Normal wake up time was no preperation for what we were about to see....worse...much worse...

Sloane did not seem to be bothered by the hives, she was eating and drinking just the same so we decided to wait for her Aappointment at 9:00a

9:00a Thursday Morning: 2 doctors opinions later, [Enth}...]. She was immediatle given steroids and that antibiotic is on her "Do Not Give" list.

1:00pm Thursday Afternoon: Our little girl is back! Mom still wants to die...

~

Three rough days later, Mom decides this sinus infection is bullcrap and goes to the doctor for Antibiotic.

Monday.....Fingers crossed we can make it through one week without a trip to the doctor.

Sloane's First Baby Shower

Although I suspect there are many more to come, Sloane attended Mrs Gini Schulist's Baby Shower back on the tenth. Thankfully Auntie Ali had just bought her a ridiculously cute tutu/headband set so she was ready to rock it out!

Gini is looking fabulous and more than ready for Baby Schulist to make his entrance. She's been a bit uncomfortable, but is handling it real well. She was very excited for all the gifts so she can start putting the nursery together and be one step closer to the big day!

Sloane and got Baby Schulist a diaper bag and what we call "baby luggage". They are two grey tote bags with lots of pockets for traveling with the little babes. We engraved them with blue letters reading Schulist and white soccer and baseballs behind. The colors match the diaper bag and the over all grey theme to their nursery! Can't wait for this little man to get here!

Meet Macy!

January 28th we welcomed our second niece, Macy Ann Wendorf! She's beautiful! Chris and I are both honored to be her Godparents and can't wait to see her grow!

Macy was 6lbs 7oz which, although teeny tiny, is bigger than Sloane and Ella were when they were born. She also came home bigger than the girls, so why oh why can none of us remember our babies being that tiny!!

Cooperation Necessary

She's crazy, she's wild, she's fearless...she's 9 months. This has hands down been the most fun month. Our little lady is a very happy baby. She thinks her Daddy is the funniest person on the planet.

Will all those smiles and giggles you would think the monthly picture would have been a piece of cake. WRONG! She was a cranky Betty due to the ear infections. First the left and now the right. Thankfully it has not seemed to bother her very much. We made it 8 months + without any major sickness. Then we got slammed with two ear infections and a cold/cough. This leads to our next topic.

Daycare! As I headed back to work Sloane began daycare again. She's there Monday - Wednesday and home with Mom Thursday and Friday. She loves daycare though. She has started to wave goodbye when leave. It started on January 29th, I almost broke down and cried it was so sweet. Later that evening when I picked her up her teacher told me how they waved goodbye to everything that day. Goodbye to the spoon after lunch, goodbye to the book after they were done and goodbye to everyone that came in the room. So darn cute.

Sloane talks back to us now. Lots of Ma Ma Ma and Da Da Da...although we don't think she knows yet who is who.

TAKE ONE

House a Home: Sloane's Room Before

I always had grand ideas for Sloane's room. Lot's of paint, lots of design, lots of style...BEFORE she was born. Being that we were selling the house it would have been for nothing for me to put my effort and energy into her room, so we made due. The even sadder part....not that she's here....I don't have the energy to do anything fabulous! So it's all about Reduce, Reuse, Recycle.

Sloane's Room in Appleton

Sloane's New Room in Plainfield (Old Owner's Furniture)
We chose to give Sloane the large corner room at the top of the stairs. It's two rooms away from Chris' office, so when he's on a call she doesn't interrupt him if she's crying or vice verse he doesn't wake her up from a nap. Plus, there is lots of space for a play area and storage of toys.

Sloane's Room once we moved in...

Reduce: Reduce the amount of money we spend on buying new things for her room. So.... Things bought so far...zero!

Reuse: We are trying to find a place for everything from her room in Appleton. As well as things let behind from the previous owners. i.e. the pink curtains came from Chris' office. He didn't want them... I can't imagine why...

Recycle: Use artwork and accessories that may have been in some other place in the house or apartment at some other time. Shopping in our basement has become quite fun.

House a Home: Powder Room Update

UPDATE:

In progress...

The room has been painted, I LOVE the color, the mirror, light and table thing in the corner have been painted black. Artwork is up and the paint smell is slowly starting to disipate. Our last step is an accent detail I want to stencil above the toilet. I found a great one on Etsy and just placed my order. So hopefully it ships fast and I finish up and take after pictures for you all!
