Let Me Introduce You...Again!

I sent this out to my work a month ago when I returned. I never made it down to the Milwaukee office to show off our little peanut, so this was the next best thing. I wanted to get it on the blog so Sloane could see how ridiculous Mom and Dad were when she was born. Also, how darn funny her expressions and personality can be sometimes~!

Hi! My name Sloane, I have strawberry blonde hair, 22 1/4" tall, blue eyes, and not that a lady should ever feel the need to share but I'm 3 months old and weigh 9 1/2 pounds

I enjoy lounging poolside…

 Indulging in a good book…

I love dogs, especially mine…

I enjoy deep and in depth conversation, I'm a very good listener…

I'm very fit and active as I love to spend time out at the golf course with Mom and Dad…

According to Dad, I'm not allowed to date until 30…I'll give him a few years…He'll soften up, I've got him around my little finger!

Keeping & Making Memories

Our home is beginning to look less like a home as we pack up all our belongings. We look around the house and even though it's all packed it still seems to familiar, likely because it looked just like this three short years ago when we moved in. It's all really starting to sink in as we're going to our last doctor's appointments, bringing Lola to her last day of doggy daycare and Sloane to daycare for the last week, me off to work for the last week. We are desperately trying to get in as much time with our neighbors and friends as we can before we have to leave them. We've got a long road of moving ahead of us and mostly because we have no road in front of our house!

They are currently in the middle of re-paving our road. Concrete is suppose to be down today and cured by Friday so Saturday morning we will be able to pull the moving truck up into the driveway. Fingers crossed they stay on schedule. The construction company even said they would put in a gravel ramp into our driveway for us. If things don't stay on schedule, we could be walking our boxes a very long way away and that will make for the most miserable move!

On the fun side, Chris and I spent the weekend finishing packing and purging the basement. In the process I found lots of fun gems like my mother's baby shower invite, my birth announcement and even my ultrasound pictures. Very cool. My parents also seemed to have kept every single award I ever received....and I mean EVERY award.... case in point...

Thanks Mom and Dad!

I also found this picture of what I believe is our first dog Zita as a little puppy. I could be wrong though and this could be Tess. But I think the pictures we have of Tess are her sleeping inside of a baseball helmet. Way too cute!

Sloane's Baptism

Our little lady joined God's Family this past weekend. All of the family including Great Grandma Jackson and Great Grandma Jan made the trip to Appleton to be with Sloane. Although she screamed her head off from the minute the ceremony started through the whole thing, and then all through pictures as well, it turned out to be a wonderful day. We had a luncheon back at the house (our last party in this house, tear). Once Sloane was in front of the cake it was nothing but smiles, go figure!

As Good as SOLD!

One week of daycare, one week back to work, and road construction beginning in front of our house. That's all it took to finally sell the house!

It was a merry-go-round of buyers and sellers but it all worked out! We close September 14th.

Our feelings are very bittersweet right now. The moment we accepted the offer on the house we just kind of looked at each other, shrugged our shoulders and went to call our families. We have been blessed with this opportunity to move to Illinois and expand Chris' job, but we love all that Appleton has to offer. Namely the safe neighborhoods, lots of entertainment options, great shopping, and awesome restaurants! The biggest bitter of all is leaving our first home together, the place we brought our precious baby girl home to and the home where we met amazing, friendly and fun neighbors.

The biggest sweets of all will be the new adventure in another town. New entertainment options, new shopping to find, and new awesome restaurants to try! Sloane will grow up knowing only our new home as 'her home', we will meet new neighbors who are hopefully as equally awesome as ours, and life as we live it will go on.

Here's to new beginnings!

Time for School

Mid-July we found out the couple who had an offer in on our house was not able to sell their home and was pulling it from the market. They then pulled their offer, so we are back to square one.

One thing lead to another and since we have not sold the home it's back to work I go. This past week was my first week and it worked out pretty well. I few high and few lows. Sloane is now in daycare during the week. Its easy to leave her there because I know she's getting lots of love and attention.

First Day of "School"

Having Sloane at daycare has been nice, it gives both Chris and I a little bit a break, helps Sloane out with more of a schedule and makes our time at home in the evening that much more fun and entertaining.

I had made a promise to myself that before I went back to work I would finish the blanket I was making for Sloane. It's been a long while since I've talked about it, but if you remember this blanket was made from the back drop fabrics for my bump pictures. I hid the 10 square in with other patterns for Sloane to find. Along with the blanket is a book of the the story of my pregnancy and our time together while she was in the womb. Bump photos and all included.
