Florida for the Fourth!

And just like that, Spring time was gone.... BRING ON THE SUMMER!~

Sloane and I got to take a fun little trip for the Fourth of July to FLORIDA! We went with Nana to see my Aunt Cathie and this was Sloane's very first time on a plane. It was an extended weekend so we jammed as much in as we possibly could. My aunt has an in ground pool, so there was plenty of swimming all day, and into the night. Lots of shopping as usual. Fireworks. And on the last day before heading back to the airport we hit up Disney Spring for an extra little surprise for Sloane. She got to meet her fairy godmother-in-training and be dolled up like Cinderella. She was in heaven!

Pool in the morning and shopping in the afternoon can make anyone tired, I don't blame her!

Firework here we come!

It was close to 100 degrees out while we were visiting. Sloane's face waiting for fireworks, says it all!

Disney Springs!

To top off all the fun Sloane got to fly home in full princess mode. We got many looks throughout the airport and much of the staff were extra special to her, saying things like "right this way princess!"

So much fun packed into four short days. Sloane has already been asking when we get to go back!

Sloanes First Dance Recital

Not long after the excitement of getting dressed up for Auntie J's wedding Sloane got to get dressed up in full makeup and costume for her first dance recital. She was beyond excited, and not so secretly, so were mom and dad!

The week before the recital was stage rehearsals. We had prepped her and talked a lot about what it would be like on stage and that there would be lights and lots of people, and so on and so fourth. Nothing seemed to phase her, she couldn't wait.

We got her in full costume, minus her shoes because I'm a rockstar mom and forgot them. No big deal right?! Wrong! Turns out it's also picture night.... so that was fun! Thankfully a good friend let us borrow her daughters. And even more thankfully we had the pictures done before her rehearsal, because she ripped her expensive recital day tights the first time she wore them! As a type A person who likes to be in control... I was freaking out! All was well though when we made an emergency run out to get new ones for the big weekend.

She had two shows, Friday and Saturday evening. Friday she was all jacked up and danced her little heart out. Saturday we were distracted by an un-tied shoe lace and pretty much got only half the performance. It was certainly hilarious though to watch.

Many thanks to all the family that came to see Sloane, she was so excited to have you all there!

Auntie J and Craig's Wedding

**Disclaimer - Pretty much every post from this point on was done in January of 2017!! Turns out, being a parent of two leaves you with very little time to write blog posts, or do anything for that matter! I digress...**

This past May 28th the entire family had the joy of being a part of Jenny & Craig's wedding day! Chris and I both stood up as a bridesmaid and groomsmen, and the both of the girls were flower girls. It was touch and go there for a while on whether Blair would actually make it down the isle. She was a fresh, brand spanking new walker, and she had the will power (and at times the strength) of ten grown men! In the end, she made it down the isle with only a couple falls, a little coaxing from Mom and Dad, no flowers and no shoes on, but hey, she made it! Those dress though, little beauties! Mauh!

The day was a blast, beautiful weather, beautiful bride and beautiful wedding all around!
